Re:
Resolution request authorization to apply asset forfeiture funds to 2026
appropriations
I respectfully request the preparation of a resolution authorizing the expenditure of
post-conviction asset forfeiture funds by my department. These funds were seized and forfeited
pursuant to applicable federal statutes, including the United States Code and Article 13-A of the
CPLR. In accordance with governing regulations, such proceeds may only be used to support law
enforcement training, equipment, and operational needs, and may not be applied to routine or
recurring budgetary expenses. The expenditure proposed in this resolution fully complies with
these requirements.
My office has verified that post-conviction asset forfeiture proceeds are available for
appropriation from A.1165.05.26260.00 - Forfeit - Restricted State.
The District Attorney's Office seeks authorization to purchase an 8'x 10' insulated K9 kennel to
ipport the newly assigned Drug Task Force K9, which will replace the previously retired K
n insulated outdoor kennel is a standard and essential requirement for all working K9s in ti
Northeastern region to ensure safety, welfare, and operational readiness.
Thank you for your consideration.
