PUBLIC WORKS & CAPITAL PROJECTS RESOLUTION NO. 2024189 RE: AMENDING THE 2024 ADOPTED COUNTY BUDGET AS IT PERTAINS TO COUNTY ROUTE 85 (SOUTH MILL ROAD) SLOPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, TOWN OF RHINEBECK, DUTCHESS COUNTY Legislators METZGER, GORMAN, D'AQUANNI, PAOLONI, and KEARNEY offer the following and move its adoption: WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works (hereinafter referred to as "DPW") has proposed a slope improvement to County Route 85 (South Mill Road) in the Town of Rhinebeck (hereinafter referred to as the "Project"), and WHEREAS, DPW advises that in July of 2024, CR 85 was closed to all traffic due to a significant settlement of the road embankment as a result of a deep slope failure under the road embankment which requires analysis and repairs, and WHEREAS, DPW's Engineering Department, as a first step in the process to permanently repair the road, solicited for proposals for the Project in order to hire an engineering firm to perform a slope stability analysis and provide recommendations for repair alternatives for the slope failure, and WHEREAS, DPW further advises that the negotiated fee for the preliminary design services is $85,000, plus an additional $15,000 to allow for contingencies that may arise during the engineering firm's investigation and assessment, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the 2024 Adopted County Budget to provide funds to meet the County's obligation and meet these expenses, now therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Commissioner of Finance is authorized, empowered and directed to amend the 2024 Adopted County Budget as follows: APPROPRIATIONS Increase H0646.5110.4401.105 A.9950.9000 A.1990.4007 Professional Services consultants Interfund Transfer to Capital Project General Contingency $100,000 $100,000 ($100,000) $100,000 REVENUES Increase H0646.5110.50310 Interfund Transfers $100,000 $100,000 CA-125-24; AMS/rjw; R-1078 APPROVED 10/15/24; Fiscal Impact: See Attached.
