MEMORANDUM
To:
Sue Serino, Dutchess County Executive
From:
Peter Grant Jordan, Ed.D., President
Subject: Capital Project Resolution - CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming - Design
Date:
November 20, 2024
Dutchess Community College is requesting a resolution be presented for legislative approval and
funding for CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming - Design.
After a meeting with several County Legislators to discuss the College's Capital Projects in the
2025-2029 Capital Program, the legislators in attendance recommended the College move
forward with the CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming-Design project instead of the Hudson
Hall Interior Reconfigurations Phase 2 previously submitted. A list of the DCC representatives
and Legislator's in attendance are below.
During the meeting there was concern about the Hudson Hall project and the need for additional
information. Discussion also ensued around the sequencing of the projects and it was suggested
by the legislators in attendance that the project for Hudson Hall Interior Reconfigurations Phase
2 for $3,666,000 being presented in December to the Legislature be moved to next year instead.
This would allow the College more time to fully design the project and present them with
additional information.
They also suggested that the College request a resolution for December to move forward with the
project, CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming - Design, $1,975,000. The legislators present
said they would be able to back this resolution and believe it would be of great benefit to the
College and community as CBI is slated to house the Allied Health Services (Nursing, EMT,
Phlebotomy, etc.).
Therefore, DCC would like to request a resolution for the December 9'h and 18"h meetings for the
CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming - Design instead of the Hudson Hall Reconfiguration
Phase 2 resolution. Attached is a resolution request form. The project is in the 2025-2029
Dutchess County Capital Program. The project is being requested at this time in order to meet
the SUNY Capital Request deadline for inclusion in the NYS Budget Appropriations for 2025-
2026. SUNY requires the resolutions by December 20, 2024.
53 PENDELL ROAD, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12601-1595
(845) 431-8000
The total estimated cost of the CBI Interior Restack and Reprogramming - Design
project is $1,975,000. The sponsor share of the project, $987,500, would be
bonded/funded by Dutchess County.
