CONDOLENCE KAREN SIMMONS

DUTCHESS COUNTY LEGISLATURE Condolence: Karen Simmons The Dutchess County Legislature offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, on December 24, 2024, the Dutchess County Legislature learned with great sadness and regret of the recent death of Karen Simmons at the age of 77, and WHEREAS, Karen was born on April 6, 1947, in Rhinebeck, New York, to the late William Sr. and Doris Kirby, and WHEREAS, Karen married her husband of 54 years, Barry Simmons, on March 14, 1970, in Rhinebeck, New York, and WHEREAS, Karen dedicated 32 years to the Dutchess County Department of Health as a Health Inspector, and WHEREAS, Karen enjoyed numerous hobbies such as gardening, hiking, baking, calligraphy, cross-stitch, sewing, and furniture restoration, and WHEREAS, Karen is survived by her husband Barry, her children Rebecca Tamm and Trevor Simmons, her grandchildren Daphne Tamm, Luna Simmons, and William Simmons, and several nieces and nephews, and WHEREAS, Karen's passing will be mourned by her family, friends, and colleagues throughout Dutchess County, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Dutchess County Legislature, on behalf of all the people of Dutchess County, does hereby extend its deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Karen Simmons, and be it further RESOLVED, that the meeting of the Dutchess County Legislature be adjourned in memory of the late Karen Simmons.
