CONDOLENCE: MICHAEL R. OSTERHOUDT

DUTCHESS COUNT LEGISLATURE Condolence: Michael R. Osterhoudt Resolution 2025049 The Dutchess County Legislature offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, On February 16, 2025, the Dutchess County Legislature learned with great sadness and regret of the recent death of Michael R. Osterhoudt at the age of 68, and WHEREAS, Michael was born on December 7, 1956, in Rhinebeck, New York, son to Mary Jane (Kilmer) Osterhoudt and the late Wallace E. Osterhoudt, Sr., and WHEREAS, Michael graduated from Red Hook High School in 1976 and worked as a Machine Equipment Operator with the Dutchess County Highway Department, and WHEREAS, On September 30, 1989, Michael married the love of his life Karen A. Studer, in Poughkeepsie, New York and their marriage was a testament to true partnership and enduring love for over 35 years, and WHEREAS, Michael was an avid outdoorsman and a member and Past President of the Red Hook Rod & Gun Club, and WHEREAS, Michael is survived by his mother Mary Jane Osterhoudt, his wife Karen, his daughters Julia Ferris, Alexandria Osterhoudt, and Jessica Osterhoudt, his grandchildren Ava Rae Ferris and Chase Joseph Osterhoudt, his sister Jocelyn Coon, his brother David Osterhoudt, and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family and friends, and WHEREAS, Michael is predeceased by his brother Wallace Osterhoudt, Jr., and WHEREAS, Michael's passing will be mourned by his family, friends and colleagues throughout Dutchess County, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Dutchess County Legislature, on behalf of all the people of Dutchess County, does hereby extend its deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Michael R. Osterhoudt, and, be RESOLVED, that the meeting of the Dutchess County Legislature be adjourned in memory of the late Michael R. Osterhoudt.
