Re:
Resolution request New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services Statewide
Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence (STRIVE) Initiative
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office respectfully requests a budget modification in
connection with the receipt of a grant from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice
Services (DCJS). This funding supports the Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner
Violence (STRIVE) Initiative, an innovative, multi-agency strategy aimed at reducing intimate
partner violence through collaboration, strategic support, and the use of evidence-based
practices.
The STRIVE Initiative promotes a Coordinated Community Response (CCR) model, enabling
law enforcement and community partners to work together using proven tools such as problem
analysis, community readiness assessments, and localized crime analysis. These methods will
help identify and prioritize high-risk intimate partner violence cases within Dutchess County.
CCR partners, established by DJS, include the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office,
City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Dutchess
County Sheriff's Office, and Family Services' Center for Victim Safety and Support. Our agency
is honored to participate in this initiative, and we are committed to implementing a response that
is survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive- ensuring the safety and well-
being of those impacted by intimate partner violence in our community.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
