PROCLAMATION: SEPTEMBER 2025 AS HUNGER ACTION MONTH

DUTCHESS COUNTY LEGISLATURE Proclamation: September 2025 as Hunger Action Month Resolution No. 2025145 The Dutchess County Legislature offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Regional Food Bank and its 1,000 partners provide vital hunger relief services to our most vulnerable neighbors, and WHEREAS, Dutchess County shall work with hunger relief organizations to make New York Hunger Free by supporting access to three healthy meals a day for our residents in need, and WHEREAS, there are 32,170 people who are food insecure in Dutchess County, with one out of eight or 6,570 children who don't have access to the food they need to thrive, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Dutchess County Legislature does hereby recognize the month of September 2025 to be Hunger Action Month and urge all the citizens of Dutchess County to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
