CONDOLENCE: ORINOCO M. "NOKE" TENNANT

DUTCHESS COUNTY LEGISLATURE Condolence: Orinoco M. "Noke" Tennant Resolution No. 2025208 The Dutchess County Legislature offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, on October 6, 2025, the Dutchess County Legislature learned with great sadness and regret of the recent death of Orinoco M. "Noke" Tennant at the age of 88, and WHEREAS, Noke was born in May of 1937, to the late Owen and Orinoco Matthews, and WHEREAS, Noke attended St. Petersburg Junior College and Dutchess Community College, and WHEREAS, Noke worked as an administrative assistant for the Dutchess County Health Department and the Dutchess County Jail, and WHEREAS, Noke is survived by her daughter Wendy Tennant-Beebe, her son Michael Tennant, her grandchildren Kyle, Jordan, and Jared, many nieces and nephews, and her companion of many years, William "Steve" Capowski, and WHEREAS, Noke was predeceased by her parents and her siblings John Matthews, Elnore Chitester, Estel Matthews, Sue Matthews, and Georgiana King, and WHEREAS, Noke's passing will be mourned by her family, friends, and colleagues throughout Dutchess County, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Dutchess County Legislature, on behalf of all the people of Dutchess County, does hereby extend its deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Orinoco M. "Noke" Tennant, and, be it further RESOLVED, that the meeting of the Dutchess County Legislature be adjourned in memory of the late Orinoco M. "Noke" Tennant.
