Additional Comments/Explanation:
The Shared Services Grant Program (SSGP) awards grants to municipalities and taxing authorities that span multiple
fiscal years. As such, A.8020.4414.320 - SSGP, Prior Year Appropriated Reserves was created for the appropriation of
funds that carry over from prior fiscal years. Res. No. 2021 136 established the process by which the Commissioner of
Finance is authorized to transfer any unexpended funds in appropriation line Shared Service Prior Year Reserve to the
Shared Services Reserve at the close of each fiscal year. In order to allow for reimbursement of projects whose funds
have been transferred to the reserve account, a budget amendment in the amount of $1 ,500,000 from A.9998.95110.09 is
requested to allow the Department of Planning & Development to carry out its financial commitments under the Program.
Further, additional funds are necessary to cover personnel and fringe expenses related to a Town of Poughkeepsie police
officer assigned to the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
